TheraScribe 5.0 Update
The 03/08/07 TheraScribe, 5.0 update addresses the following: Down load file is at the bottom of this list.
- The manual activation process now works properly.
- In the Reports, Clinical Record Report, Edit mode, the View Fields screen now allows you to right click on an item in the tree and copy it. You can then paste it into Word to include that value. Also, extraneous items are now excluded in the custom field list.
- On the Mental Status screen, Judgment was mispelled and the slash in the Thought Form/Content tab was misplaced.
- Using a date in the patient group screen caused a crash.
- Primary Problem is now included in the available patient group fields.
- The Import Treatment Episode process, which failed if it tried to add a new Assessment Instrument, has been corrected.
- The Import process from TheraScribe 4.0 failed if an Objective Rating pointed to an objective of a different episode than the session it belonged to.
- Re-importing the same TheraScribe 4.0 database may have caused an error related to custom fields, and this has been corrected.
- Duplicate Objective Ratings were being stored, which caused the Clinical Record report to crash. The update deletes the duplicates and prevents duplicates from being stored.
- In the Library edit screen, when selecting an item with a Value ID columns, changing the value of just a value ID on an existing record now holds.
- On the Psychotherapy Notes screen, switching between clients caused the notes to be overwritten in some cases. This has been corrected.
- When adding a session from the Psychotherapy notes, the new note had the same psychotherapy note as the previously selected one. This has been corrected.
- Sessions now sort correctly when switching between clients on the session screens.
- The TheraSync process was producing the following error under certain circumstances: "Missing ), ], or Item in query expression 'PatientID IN (SELECT PatientID FROM Episode WHERE EpisodeID = '." This has now been corrected.
- Objective Ratings were not being saved in some cases. This has been corrected.
- In some instances, Administrative reports were crashing. This has been corrected.
- In some instances, the Clinical Record reports were crashing. This has been corrected.
- Enhancements to the clinical record report designing tool have been implemented.
- The selected Patient Group in Administrative report is remembered.
- Patient Groups are checked for validity.
- When changes are made to a new Clinical Record report, those changes now appear this first time the Preview button is selected.
- On the Report screen, the All Dates field is now automatically unchecked when dates are entered.
- Comments on the Recovery page are now being saved.
- The problem list in the second grid, which was not changing when the client was changed, is corrected.
- Users with different language settings may not have been able to connect to the database. This has been corrected.
- In the Clinical Record reports, the page header was disappearing if certain sections were selected. This has been corrected.
- When setting the end time on a session the duration may become inaccurate. This has been corrected.
- In the header of Clinical Record reports, "Page X of Y" was changed to "Page X." (This modification was done because the page total value could not be kept accurate if users added or removed pages.)
- In the Library editor, items with a Value column are now required to be unique
- Miscellaneous issues were fixed in the Import from Previous version process.
- 4.0 or 5.0 sessions that had no providers associated with them caused errors when shutting down or switching patients. This has been corrected.
- On the Tools, Preferences screen, if the Number of Appointments displayed was set to “0,” the program crashed after a provider logged in as someone other than the administrator (using the default log-in information).
- The issue of having too many custom fields (250+), which caused the custom field screens to crash, has been addressed.
- The Edit Groups button now does not appear on the Administrative screen when a user is logged in with less than admin rights.
- The database backup process crashed in the Essential edition.

I am running TheraScribe 5.0 solo edition. I recently upgraded to Windows XP PRO. Now, when I try to run TheraScribe, I get the following error:
Error: The procedure entry point Getiums@4 could not be located in dynamic link library MSDART.DLL. What do I do?
This issue is related to Microsoft's data access libraries (MDAC). The recommended solution is to download the latest version and install it from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en
(Make sure to copy and paste the entire link into your browser's address bar. Also restart your system after applying this update. This update will remove the error you have been getting.)
Another way to obtain the update is to simply navigate to the Microsoft website and click on the "Downloads" link.
In the search window type "MDAC." Under the results, select the MDAC 2.8 driver and download and install the file accordingly.
Can't locate library error.
Open the TheraScribe Installation CD
