In its dramatization format, MANAGERS AS MEDIATORS suggests and describes a non-adversarial approach to resolving disputes in the workplace through an experienced resolver of conflicts named Cindy. That approach is mediation -- an informal, private negotiation process.

The video depicts a typical office dispute between co-workers Mark and Ryan, assigned to work on a team with one another. While the nature of the dispute is left ambiguous, the results of the dispute are clear: a team unable to function.

Cindy teaches Mark and Ryan's supervisor, Sam, the seven "M.E.D.I.A.T.E." principles for resolving conflicts between employees before they become more serious.
