Brad Smart, Ph.D.
Having conducted more than 6,500 interviews during his 35-year career, Dr. Smart is today recognized as the premier authority in executive recruiting. Leading CEOs the world over rely on his innovative approaches to help them find, hire and retain true "difference-makers"at every level. Among Topgrading's biggest advocates is former General Electric CEO Jack Welch who enlisted Brad in 1980 to put his Topgrading methodology to the test throughout his company.

Buoyed by Topgrading's success at GE and in other organizations, Brad wrote the book Topgrading which soon became 1999's best-selling book in its category. An updated and revised edition will be published early in 2005.

Brad earned his doctorate in Industrial Psychology at Purdue University. Since 1972 he has been president of Chicago-area Smart & Associates, Inc., mentoring leaders of business, industry and not-for-profits worldwide. His influence on management trends has earned him front-page coverage on The Wall Street Journal, in Fortune magazine and from clients worldwide.

Geoff Smart, Ph.D.
Geoff is founder, Chairman & CEO of ghSMART, with offices in Chicago, Boston, Charlotte, Denver, Montreal and New York. Under his direction, ghSMART's team provides management assessment and leadership coaching to venture capital and buyout investors, hedge fund managers, Fortune 500 executives, and billionaire entrepreneurs. Geoff has written for Fortune, entrepreneurial journals and co-authored the original "Topgrading"article. He lectures at both the Kellogg and Sloan Schools of Management.

An alumnus of Northwestern University (Economics), Geoff went on to earn his Ph.D. in Psychology from Claremont Graduate University where he studied under Peter F. Drucker
