Applied Shop Math Video-Supported Learning Program
On
the shop floor, skilled workers who perform specialized tasks
must be competent in more than simple arithmetic. For instance,
setup and layout requires workers to solve math problems that
relate to many types of part features. Applied Shop Math
gives workers a practical foundation in algebra, plane geometry
and trigonometry. It allows them to solve equations and formulas,
and calculate dimensions of the geometric shapes that represent
most part features - triangles, quadrilaterals, circles and hexagons.
The program is designed for either self-study or instructor-led
sessions. It focuses on typical shop floor applications, so workers
can quickly use their new skills on the job.
